Positives:
+ Touch screen (good for focusing moving subject like a pet)
+ Series images while pressing the touch screen (Canon makes here only one image)
+ Spirit Level 3D
+ GPS to sign with the possibility (and interval time can be set); on top of it, there's a card function in the camera (which makes no one else)
+ Wi-Fi included. APP for remote control (IOS, Android)
+ Very good burst options and processing time. (There are worlds between the Panasonic and Nikon). As for the continuous shooting, the Panasonic is the favorite in this comparison.
+ The most important options are within easy reach via the Q Menu
+ Bracketing is possible
Neutral:
Loading O the battery in the camera so that you have a choice, either to photograph or take pictures (with 2nd Battery)
O no individualized self-timer (which can only Canon and DSLR)
O Light Low lens (However, the in this focal length range otherwise also not really better)
O hardly Night Scene-compatible by restricting 4s exposure time
O configuration of the Wi-Fi button on my camera attitude is not beneficial. During the test period, the camera is often changed inadvertently in the Wi-Fi menu.
O Sweep Panorama did not lead to satisfactory results with me.
Negatives:
- A screwed tripod plate blocked the battery / memory card compartment
- The tripod thread is not in the optical axis
- No Interval Timer
- Any combination of self-timer and exposure bracketing possible
- No way, the self-timer to individualize (time and number of images that can only Canon and DSLR)
- Display reflects quite strong, no tilting / folding / rotating possibility
- The ratio of MP to sensor size is not be regarded as meaningful. With smaller screen view the shortcomings in the images fall though hardly, however, I need for small prints also not a big resolution. The images appear (depending on the situation more or less) like a (good) phone. Soft, a few details. But the files are quite large (50% greater than that of Canon SX260HS which uses the same sensor size 12MP).
- The minimum distance to the object is unusually large at longer focal lengths
- Every now and then the camera did not let on. 5min later we went. A reason I could not find. (When the Nikon is however also occurred, Olympus / Canon did not show such deficits)
In the image quality, there were no big surprises. The Canon S110 and the Nikon P330 are not that far. Depending on the subject / situation, the Nikon or Canon images are better / more beautiful for my taste. The DSLR is always (depending on the situation easy to clear) on the compact, the SX260 is relatively well with the larger compacts with, but remain behind the 1 / 1.7 sensor back (S110; P330; ZX-2), the Old A590 comes with only in good light, but has other disadvantages (therefore it was indeed replaced). The Panasonic shows beautiful images through soft and a certain cell phone look that it makes no sense to squeeze a 1 / 2.33 Sensor 18MP. The pictures show only more space (about 50% more than the SX260 with 12MP sensor on the same area) and show less detail.
For me, from this comparison, the Canon S110 as the winner. In the pictures there is hardly something to complain about, it is small and light, quickly prepared and can be operated smoothly. Second place I would award and the Nikon loses from software reasons due to the operation of the Olympus and Panasonic. What good are beautiful pictures when she's not fun to take because the camera really stand out for long waits!
