Yes Discovery will remain the undisputed masterpiece of daft punk, although when it was released the disc had descended by many critics for bad taste and no announced late group (philippe maneuver, not to name it). I wanted to remember this fact before you read negative reviews. I have listened to the album 2 times so far and I have not yet discovered all the wealth, so I will book here my first impressions. There are several music in this album slaps, several pieces that leave you on the knees. First titles with Nile Rodgers are high fly purely enjoyable. The pieces with chilly gonzales has something timeless between jazz and the Billy Joel ballad. Then the grand, first the already legendary Giorgio by moroder where the master behind the monologue, daft punk reinvented her musical journey, a title that grows in strength for a final drum & bass to finish on the box of simple boom boom battery, symbol of his dicône under disco. Then, a punch in the stomach that is from where we did not expect, paul williams touch with a real opera song with breaks of rhythms, musical styles change, horns, hearts of children, rope, disco, the relaxing music and a voice from beyond the grave to begin bluffing ageless voice paul williams (70 years), an anthology piece. And then there was contact, only purely electronic piece of the disc. Finally, without being an exhaustive list of the album, it has to do with the very, very good music, beautifully produced that makes a bridge between the past and the present, for we have a vitality and a quality loss music for quite some years now to share with rare exception daft punk.
