Jim's last gigs in NYC

The Doors were one of the first bands dee it to the stage of the legendary Madison Square Garden managed, that was in 1969. A year later she returned to the Big Apple, this time they chose the much smaller stage of the intimate Felt Forum for 2 shows at 17th and 18th January 1970th
The Quartet recalled his beginnings in the clubs (shed) in LA when it all started at the Cat Club where they played 4 sets on some days.
In Felt Forum They presented not only the mandatory standard in live performance songs like Light My Fire, Backdoor Man, Break On Through, or the epic long The End and Celebration of the Lizard but also some cover versions, among others Crawling King Snake by John Lee Hooker or Willie Dixon's Little Red Rooster.
Roadhouse Blues was played spontaneously and can be found on the album "Morrison Hotel" again appeared the first weeks after these performances.
Obviously did Jim's return to the smaller stage very well. He joked with the audience! His voice is very secure, sometimes brittle, and something struck but they never and it has a very pleasant bluesy timbre denied him.
He should never return to New York, a year later he was death.
Doors fan's know some tracks on the album are Absolutly Live and all 10 tracks on this NY concerts can be found in the 4 CD Box 1998 on the CD Live from NYC.
the sound of the 6 CD's has been revised by longtime band engineer Bruce Botnick and sounds excellent.
