Journey without Steve Perry as a singer does not work? It's a moot point I am among those who argue that it goes very well. Therefore one must listen only once the epochal, self-titled debut album from 1975, which are teeming with musical class and what was even recorded without the singing legend. In the present recordings with Steve Augeri a singer at the start, it contrives to penetrate the tonal areas of Steve Perry and sing with a similar manner. One hardly missed the previous Augeris. The known-popular OO Oooohs dominated Augeri as once Perry well and languishes on so grandiose songs like "Signs of Life" or "Lifetime Of Dreams" that it freshens a wildflower. The newcomers to this album, "Higher Place", is a for Journey ratios quite brisk rocker who's going well and other songs like "Live And Breathe" or "We Will Meet Again" with known earwig-like structures bear witness to the musical class this Opus, in which, despite (or perhaps?) via a 70 minute game time almost never get bored. Guitar veteran Neil Schon, his companion from the early days Ross Valory on bass, who also had long at Journey gambling Jonathan Cain on keyboards and Steve Augeri were still accompanied by Deen Castronovo on drums, among other things, already with Ozzy ("Ozzmosis" 1995 ) and Geezer Butler (G / Z / R) and the whole worked with a fairly rich game touches his fragrance brand. The musically very good implementation of composed songs is refined by an equally good production by Kevin Shirley in collaboration with John Kalodner. The Cover fits in the series of motifs typical journey with the famous Beetle seamlessly. Finally, it can be said to "Arrival" that almost everything is just right and together with said debut from 1975 and the highly successful "Greatest Hits" from 1988 forms the present album a trilogy that know each Journey fan and should have. Logically, there's 5 star arrived from Christian Schauer, Berlin. More wrote me saying: Steppenwolf "The Best Of - Born To Be Wild" Kiss "Unmasked"
