Customer Review

As it is now the completely different Journey album.

Well, so at least there will always enjoy touted.
So all I can this statement, however, does not grant my consent, finally, these are not to Journeys first experimental album.
In my opinion, this is the album that was actually announced 10 years ago based on the "Red 13" EP.
With Red 13 namely Neal Schon`s began ego trip in my opinion.
After more than a decade now I see "Eclipse" as a logical continuation.

This time we have of course to do it with a complete album and I must say that I like it.
In principle, we expect the same guitar-oriented progressive rock as easily on Red. 13
Pompous, narcissistic guitar fetishism or unobtrusive, durable rock with character,
that will probably feel different every fan and somehow both factions are right.

I personally like the album but.
It is considerably rounder and more homogeneous than for example Generations.
But of course you miss one or two catchy tune, the album may have loosened up a bit
lend and maybe some additional momentum could.
The song "Someone" is very ambitious to achieve this, however, scars narrowly past the target.
At least for the first couple of passes).

I really want to emphasize that Arnel Pineda has vocally evolved significantly.
Now that he is no longer so desperately tried to copy his predecessors, he really sounds a lot more to Augerie and also a little Perry.
Because on this album now seems to be singing just more balanced and less forced.

Despite some compromises I would recommend this album highly enough,
However, one should previously be aware that this, in principle, to a more than one hour is guitar solo,
therefore, I would suggest any Journeyfan this album to not reach with false expectations to go first as a kind of Neal Schon (and Jonathan Cain) to consider solo project.
