Lines to Erin (MP3 Download)

Customer Review

The band Trianam from Salzburg has written not for nothing more than their name "Folk Music". According to Christian Ebner and Norbert Berger size, the two singers and instrumentalists the main band are "some folk songs run after many years to find it, dig the lyrics or catch the melody".

They also have self-composed wonderful melodies and written texts. Unlike her also highly recommended "Folk Ballads On The Rocks" album is this album entirely of original songs of the band, some with vocals, but also quite a few purely instrumental - eg "Mossglen's Fancy" is very interesting with several concertinas. In the booklet of their CD (which I could buy at one of her concerts) put the two quite humorous the creation / inspiration to the individual pieces are.

In the title song "Lines to Erin" The lyrics of consists of a poem by Jeremiah Joseph Callanan (1795-1829), an Irish who emigrated to Portugal poet. According to Chris Ebner: "When I read the poem, the melody immediately fell into my hands I picked up the guitar and the song was almost finished.." The result is a wonderful piece of Irish Folk, very noteworthy is beside Christians singing mainly Norbert accompanied with an Irish flute (great solo!).

One hears this album love the band to folk music and specifically to Ireland, where two pieces were also inspired by Norbert's love for Greece: "You And Me" and "Akou ton Okeano".

Since there currently only the mp3 album is offered and I assume that very few have the opportunity to get hold of the CD with the booklet and the comments of the two (eg, at a concert), I write here Norbert comment for Greek final song " Akou ton Okeano "down:

"Why wrote the first missionaries in Ireland in ancient Greek Why does Norbert five years to Greece for net fishing with his friend Agellos When will we see each other again the coasts of Ireland Which songs sing the fish in the depths of the sea Akou ton Okeano??? - listening to the ocean. " Posted by Norbert Berger Size

PS A big thank you to the great Trianam concert last week at the Seebühne Seeham with the wonderful lakeside panorama!
