Currently I read many books of my youth and of course Jules Verne is prominently. What memories, travels and dreams !!! "Journey to the Center of the Earth", "The Mysterious Island", "From the Earth to the Moon" and it is absolutely incredible novels written since the 19th century. This book written in 1870, tells us the story of a giant sea creature that flow of ships across the seas and oceans. Several insurance companies scalded by these shipwrecks repeatedly, decide to send a boat the "Abraham Lincoln", commanded by Captain Farragut to destroy the monster. After many adventures, they discover that the creature is simply a submarine named "Nautilus". It is commanded by Captain Nemo, and cold man of great intelligence. An incredible adventure begins. Despite the fact that Jules Verne is often mistaken in its calculations of depth, pressure and temperature for deep drawing on the knowledge of the time (we are in 1870), "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" is However, a sacred book of anticipation. More "The nautilus" is truly a submarine ahead of its time. It will take several decades to a submarine that size built. To sum "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" is both a magnificent adventure but especially science fiction novel. This book is for all readers whatever their age is. Read or reread it because it is a true masterpiece. Note that the cover is an exact replica of one that appeared in Éditions Hetzel. Adanson Marco.
