Benefits:
- Stone grinder - higher quality regrind / flour finer than the steel mill
- Ground material is not appreciably heated (-> vitamins!)
- Flour is milled directly into the bowl
- Fineness during the milling on / adjustable
- Stone is itself nachschärfend
- Long life so
- No other engine block on the kitchen surface
- Attractive price compared to other mills with stone grinder
Disadvantages:
- High weight for a kitchen machine attachment (about 3 kg). Due to this fact due to that it is a nuisance, the mill for small quantities (one cup of flour or so) set up. Who frequently or continuously requires smaller quantities, is a "stand-alone solution" probably better - albeit more expensive serviced.
- The grinding is a little louder than that of a "just-mill", which is due to the approximately three times more powerful engine of the food processor - but more bearable -> For kneading you need it then yes anyway.
What to look for:
- If you have set up the mill, let the "momentary switch first very briefly turn on, so the Veriegelungen fit securely - otherwise can sometimes break off what by the Ruck.
- Mill does not run empty in "fine tuning". If no ground material - from the last time - between the stones is set only to "coarse" and when milling (after one to two seconds make fine.
- Amount of coffee of 2 kg without pause should not be exceeded with regard to the quality of the flour. The heat is not the problem - but with increasing amounts ever more moisture collects between stones (in the grain are about 10-15% water) and eventually (in our mill but only after about 3 kg), it begins to lubricate. -> This is very annoying when cleaning because flour then really sticks like stupid (they used flour to glue the way earlier qualitatively upgrade !!!)
- If the drive train overloaded, tear the Claw from the mill. This is a special nut with a predetermined breaking point, which thereby prevents damage to the mill itself, or even in the food processor. They get uro for about 6 at Bosch. It is us once demolished, because we had placed the mill at an angle. Since we are a screw as a substitute in the charge; but was probably my personal stupidity, because in the past 19 years is then nothing similar happens, although we have as I said the mill almost daily use.
Overall a very successful accessory, apart from weight and continuously move up the mill and will have to settle.
