This album has actually my (hearing) changed life. It concerns with "Khmer" to the debut album of Nils Petter Molvaer, and it stands out already by the maturity and intelligence, as would be expected at a rather late work. Molvaer brings together and to a new form, which was still frowned upon in the jazz area years ago - electronic escapades, dance grooves and sounds that come from the pop and rock area, coupled with compositional elements of jazz. However, the work is as homogeneous a whole, that it is almost nonsense to respond to the individual components and their origin.
When music reaches the limits of perfection, the words begin to be hollow and each description must fall short. So should you hear - "Khmer" is the door to a wondrous sound universe, inspirational, powerful and full of poetic beauty.
