Worrisome Heart (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Meanwhile, Melody Gardot has released their second album on the market. In her debut -Worrisome Heart- critics opinions may have been shared. When successor -My One and Only Thrill-the already looks different. But it's because that album No.2 is better voiced or artistically valuable? Definitely not. Rather, a newcomer to the business will often not have believed all too much. But let's be honest: would fail to get to this vote also on the debut album. This involves me not about how many octaves has a jazz singer on pocket; not every one is Ella Fitzgerald or Billy Holiday. And even with these magnificent artists except it was not necessarily the vocal power that made them so unique, but the incredible way, as they were able to identify with a song. Melody Gardot is just that. Perfect fit, with minimal Instrumentenunterstüztung makes her voice to the "main instrument" of the piece. Anyone who has this voice could hear live who knows that Melody Gardot in this regard is beyond any doubt.

On their debut album -Worrisome Heart- Melody Gardot plays even a trace more toward popular music, as in the successor. There are a few pieces that are reminiscent in arrangement and sequence of sounds a bit like Norah Jones. Where Gardot with her voice the songs their own stamp on.

Playing tips: -Love me like a river does-. For me as a soundtrack in the mediocre film "La Linea" the highlight of the film. A song that goes dark and sad under the skin. -Quiet Firewall is one of the songs that remind a bit of Norah Jones. An incredibly harmonious interplay between guitar, wind instruments and Gardots voice. -Worrisome Heart- is the classic jazz bar song. Casually, almost lasciviously, the piece ripples siren regardless of the speakers. -All I need is love- is a timeless piece that could have come from the 60s, 70s or 80s, with a wonderful clarinet in the background. -Gone- Acts like a helping hand towards pop, a ballad that is almost radio friendly.

The rest of the CD convinced (at least me) wholeheartedly. Melody Gardot is evolving. The lady from New Jersey is still quite young and I'm already excited to see how it will go on. Who knows, maybe we will talk in a few years by "the Gardot". Who can in this fast-paced time in the music business today say? The makings of a big time Melody Gardot has definitely.
