Mario is back - finally on the 3DS

Nintendo sends her plumber off again, this time on the 3DS. That was about time, because so great the device is also good games you could count on one hand. Super Mario 3D Land is the first in a series of Nintendo's own games, in which 3DS owners certainly wait eagerly. If the match can also persuade now?

Story: Yes ... let's be honest, who expect an in-depth story in a Mario? Peach was again kidnapped by Bowser, Mario must save her. But that is indeed in a Mario game actually not.

Graphics:
Is wonderful and now shows already what the 3DS is capable of. The game does not reach that perfection of Super Mario Galaxy, but is, as I see, well above Super Mario Sunshine on the Game Cube. Everything is kunterbunt again, the models are beautiful, lighting effects impressive, although not as brilliant as in the Galaxy play, but I do not expect on a handheld as well. But you can say that it looks very very good.

Sound:
Here we have a typical Mario. The music and many parts of the sound effects come from old Mario games, but were modernized. That sounds good, that fits and is even more retro feel. Very nice!

Gameplay:
Probably the most important point in a Mario game and here is right again almost everything! Super Mario 3D Land is completely built unlike Super Mario Sunshine 64 or the Galaxy parts. It is more linear and thus is somewhat reminiscent of the old side-scroller or New Super Mario Bros. However, we have no side-scroller, but rather a game where you can move in all directions still. What Nintendo has been reached so that a quasi modernized retro Mario, I very, very cool find personally. Advanced is this retro feeling by Gameplaymechnakiken from old parts, which are not so far occurred in the 3D Marios. That includes not only the gameplay mechanics, but also worlds, enemy types and items. The raccoon suit from Super Mario Land 3 has for example, into the game. For players who do not know the old games from the NES and SNES, so come partly new gameplay mechanics to use, they do not know. Connoisseurs of the old parts will think "Ah, this I know, therefore," but be modernized implementation also have fun!
It is however said that the difficulty of the 8 worlds with insgemt 36 level is not very high and if you really not coming times, you get a permanent Unverwundbarkeitsitem and in extreme cases, an item that conveys a right to their destination. Also, the time limit of the level, as the number of lives that you get is more than generous. In addition, the level and all are quite short. If you have this level all managed, but special level again come to the fore, which are a bit crisper. Here veterans of the series are also called for something more. All together is this also works well quite well, because so did my game, which can be enjoyed on one part and the other part still a little overwhelmed. A little more difficult ego would have nonetheless desired.
In addition to the normal puzzles also geselen still mystery boxes about which have not much to do with puzzles, but are quite funny. You have to collect all the items, which is sometimes challenging part in a certain time. This level can be exchanged via StreetPass with other players. If you play a level exchanged, you can still see the record of the other player, which you can of course try to break.
A multiplayer mode there is not what I positively anmerke in this case. It would not be a good fit here just multiplayer and there a lack of multiplayer is me in a good game, as an imposed, poor multiplayer mode.
Items There are many known, but also a few new, which are easy to integrate into play. Here you will also have a lot of fun.

The 3D:
Super Mario 3D Land is a game that you really should play in 3D. The effect is great! And by the third dimension does jumping on certain blocks or platforms many times more precise than if you put the 3D slider down. So the 3D effect has to be used! It should also mention that the game offers 2 3D levels in addition to the normal 3D Regulators 3DS: one sets the 3D effect more in depth, at the moment during the whole other's more to the fore. Conclusion: Super Mario 3D Land is great! It is typical, Mario gameplay which is just full of innovation again. Half a star deduction I would give for the difficulty and the length of the level. But there are not to award half stars on Amazon, I round on 5 stars because total of the game is just very, very good!
