This novel for a first novel is a masterstroke. I loved this novel of nearly 500 pages. In this novel, we find all the ingredients of a great book. It is about two stories: one in the 20s, and one of these days. The author shown great maturity, I was interested especially in the historical period of 1924 with the rise of the Himalayas, it's very well documented and it is written could have been the story of a survivor, and ditto for the 14-18 war! Finally there is also and above all a love story (or two for that matter) is very well done. We are far from naive, it is very well written and the reader is left to take in the whirlwind of history with real emotions A very ambitious novel masterfully realized that once closed, continues to haunt us.
