The epic * 2112 * unfaßt exactly one side of the LP and is divided into six chapters. As the title suggests it is a sci-fi story that is located in the distant future. The story reminded partly to Lem, partly to Asimov and Dick. The world is run by a totalitarian regime, feelings are mechanically suppressed until the protagonist of the story is a musical instrument. The story is despite the claim somewhat superficial and can probably only in a novel and not implement sufficient in lyrics, but the music is awesome. Threaded, bulky with brilliant instrumental, sophisticated arrangements, much wit and audible playful mood. * Able to surpass A Song of even the ingenious * Fountain Of Lamneth from direct predecessor album yet.
From Track 2, ie at the beginning of the second side of the LP, it is then passed back to the normal, if not to say profane realms of Hard skirt back. * A Passage To Bangkok * sounds outlandish, not only because of the Asian intros, but sounds totally out of place at first, but nevertheless knows how to please. Another applies to the other five tracks that were, well herangefürt conscious because of bulky first track only to the maximum limit of 4 minutes. No failure here, classwork, but no other brilliant ideas here, just simple Hard Rock. * 2112 * easy übertrahlt the entire disc.
The disk marked then cope also a breakthrough on the American continent, the global breakthrough was still to come, but not to the extent to which it had made the many colleagues of Rush, who specializes in composing shorter pieces.
CONCLUSION: epic is unparalleled - not exceeded in this form of self-Rush ...
