I photograph for several years with the SX30 and am very satisfied with the picture quality. As good as always extremely sharp images, whether macro or telephoto. Noise only occurs at very high ISO settings. I was very glad about the new SX60, which has been praised in the Internet as high. But it went very quickly disillusion. After the first sample images and a control of the image quality using a graphics program, a more or less strong image noise was evident in all the pictures. I now wanted to test extensively, because I could not and would not believe what I saw. So I made about 200 pictures in any setting, as I was used to from my SX30. Image quality was not better than before and I had not a single image without noise. I am very disappointed about this camera and also from the manufacturer that such a bad camera on the market, "throwing", which did not even reach the quality of their predecessors. Here something else that might be interested to some customers. I bought the SX60 at Amazon at a discounted price. The package would reportedly damaged and the camera would have small blemishes - in other words scratches - on the case. But everything would be tested and perfectly fine. Small scratches bother me a little, if the image quality is right. After arrival of the consignment but I could not detect any damage to the packaging and there were also no scratches will found on the housing. So far so good. On the camera, the shoulder strap and the lens cap were already attached. The battery was without packaging and without terminal cover loose in the box. After inserting the battery and turn on the camera did not the usual date and time query. No, it was all set up already finished - date and time - as well as the battery was charged (the battery charger switched off after less than a half an hour for the green light). And when cleaning the lens, I had also noted that the lens while cleaning rattles something, so to say, it has some leeway in the camera.
