1989 (Deluxe Edition) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

First of all I have to say to me: I've never been a totally convinced Taylor Swift fan, have indeed repeatedly hear songs from her, but it is always only individual that I liked.
Which mainly included the songs of the first albums, "Teardrops on My Guitar", "Invisible" and "Love Story" which I kept coming back because their vote simply has to fit super and I found them beautiful.
However, I never had an album of her - until now.
After "Red" was came out, I was terribly disappointed first, I found the singles already really terrible, simply because they have listened produced so exaggerated and so childish. Just "I Knew You Were Trouble" was just terrible to my ears, but that was just my opinion and many others have found good it seems. That was also the reason why I first expected "1989" not much.
That she had some time on country astray, I think is familiar to anyone who even called "Red" as a pure country album, the well versed in genres not look. Especially since a large part of Max Martin produced, and which is indeed primarily to bring more with Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, Maroon 5 and many other pop acts in connection with the Country. And on "1989" again.

Overall, I have to say now but I have "shake it off", "Out of the Woods" and "Welcome to New York" is one in advance of album releases and was almost shocked how well I like that and had first no idea why, because it's also - and almost more - Pop like the songs from "Red".

Now of course this can be because I just love the 80s pop like, even though I was born only in the 90s, but there is something else, more mature, yet childlike enough in it that it suits their age , In addition, my production like surprisingly good, even if it rattles in some places in songs, as many already have noted here. I like it, so I'm very happy with my first album Taylor Swift.

My favorite songs are:
1) "Out of the Woods" - Starts with weird distorted sound on, only sound not so great, but the refrain immediately grabs you and puts a after all the time in the ear firmly (which does not bother me in the case of the song not boring or annoying).
2) "I know places" - The song also captures only lugubrious to (with a noise that sounds like you flick an old camera, and then have to run), but he invites nevertheless immediately to listen and loosens the album which sounds quite similar to the point of somehow. You hear something else and is automatically curious and the text, the voice, the melody and the production itself is very consistent, interesting and fun to listen to, for me a Earcatcher which positively stands out from the rest of the album, even if it is a bit darker.
3) "Shake it off" - first single and incredibly catchy, the lyrics also like it very much. On the radio again and again, so I will refrain from doing even an accurate description.
4) "Bad Blood" - The song begins with the chorus that invites the same time to sing loud and very fast fix in the mind. I like also the structure very well, in the meantime it is very quiet, before the chorus starts mehrstimmig again. Also has a little bit of folk, the "Hey" is always thrown in between.
5) "Style" - Starts with guitar and is very atmospheric, which I personally liked a lot, her voice fits perfectly. And somehow the song is simply a perverted high feel-good factor in the chorus. The verses are indeed held something thoughtful and melancholy, but in the chorus of the song sets a good mood.
6) "Welcome to New York" - sounds at first like one of the weakest songs on "1989", but I just like this very 80's synth and beat constellation. The text is actually quite interchangeable, since one could actually sing any city, not necessarily trimmed to New York. But I like the chorus so much that I once placed him so high, because I just love very much, just like the Bridge.
7) "Wildest Dreams" - The song has also very taken me at once, it is equipped with plenty of synth and a beat that sounds like a heartbeat. And the chorus sounds with Taylor's voice just like a caress in the ears, I hear him very much because he sounds so atmospherically light and takes more momentum towards the end.
8) "How you get the girl" - Since the acoustic guitar for the first time country-feeling is used and on. I particularly like the song text structure, before the chorus comes: Before the first chorus it says "and that's how it works, that's how you get the girl," before the second: "That's how it works, that's how you lost the girl" and finally after the last chorus "and that's how it works, that's how you got the girl." It simply notes that the song tells a story and not always the same is sung. The chorus effect in the first part a bit bulky, then in the second but good to sing along.
9) "I Wish You Would" - Sounds first more like a Katy Perry song (also the background vocals drown more by Katy Perry's voice), a bit more exciting and the song name is just program is repeated many times, but a very beautiful lyrics.
10) "Blank Space" - Since bother me a little something the hard beats, one should not too loud to hear and somehow resonates as always beats another sound after which somehow sounds like a mistake ... Not the xylophone-like sound, but something crackling, just in the first stanza. Otherwise, I might as building and this xylophone-like supplement in the song. Only the beats halt ...
11) "This Love" - sounded at first hearing rather disappointing because it's kind of boring the structure (especially in the first part) and also acts as a soporific, which is not necessarily bad, but it is first a little surprised. The first part is complete without beats and accompanied only by acoustic guitar and synth sound. Towards the end comes in more speed and more structure with the beats. The bridge seems somehow cobbled together something and confused to me, so I can not really do something with it, like the strangely distorted Einrufe "This Love" in the last part I do not like that.
12) "Clean" - Somehow I can say something to the song hardly because it eliminates me every time. He so did not remain in the memory and looks quite unspectacular for me, rather gloomy, but not bad, just to me it acts just like filling material, because nothing is really hanging. But her voice I really like the song.
13) "All you had to do what stay" - The song could be better, if not this extremely warped upward "Stay" s always would come in between. Clear that make the song sometimes, but it sounds so processed and mechanically that it's just not so nice sounds, I think. The Bridge I do not like so much.

Overall, I liked all the songs but in their own way and it always comes up also depends on the mood, what song arrives just better. I am as I said pleasantly surprised that I like it so well, after I really took "Red" very strange. Although it certainly rattles a bit and sounds processed voice and some background vocals strong tones by Katy Perry (I thought she might have actually sung), but so is Pop now times: Popular music sounds mostly quite equal and suitable for mass production, it is now due to the chart-suitable design and production, or at the same general mainly music software on your computer, certain beats that are gladly taken over again or whatever. This has personally never bothered me as long as you the artist (main voice and text) can still get to hear and that's when "1989" clearly the case.

So I think its transformation surprisingly well done, for me as a part-time Taylor Swift fan and now the proud owner of one of her albums, she has thus made a great step and I think it is not wrong that it has taken the Poprichtung, their Lyrics have always been very popular (ie went very early in the direction of popular music) and you as a person is also in a more pop star, as a Country Girl, at least judging by media interest after. For me it was therefore imperative that this change would eventually arrive in her music and I am delighted that 80's pop is a bit more popular again, with this album. :)
