From the wild and unbridled thrash metal of the first discs is really not much left.
Comparing this album debut, which was a real inferno, one can hardly believe that still the same band.
How do the new Haunted?
In short, more melodies, more clean vocals, more groove, but less pace, banging and energy.
Some of the pieces have a real catchy, such as Disappear or Unseen, but there are also a couple of Langweiler, such as The Skull or Done.
I find quite succeeded to the realignment, but somehow unbalanced.
The total abandonment of harder and faster pieces makes the drive a bit one-dimensional.
Against Hate Song as grenades or Choke Hold can anstinken not one of the songs, since simply lack the power.
The review of the album I find somewhat difficult:
On the one hand, the songs are really too good to maul it, but on the other hand I can not really get into it.
Therefore I forgive 3 stars.
Those who are not bothered because the haunted make no more thrash metal, gets a decent rock album and can think 4 stars.
Who rather appreciates the uncompromising aggression and energy of the early days, should advance rather check it out and will likely come to 2 stars.
