Aeria (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Predominant in Oonagh's second album "Aeria" are time Indian sounds, chants and rhythms.
This is very similar to the first album, the more "African" sound. So Oonagh on course and interweaves the Elvish language with earthly cultures. All this in itself however I feel somehow as limping concept. The songs are nice and fluid, but here is the music from the "test-tube" is actually more striking than at Oonaghs wonderful debut album.
Some I found rather boring and it all sounds the same anyway. Nothing is really herausstechend as Nan Uye or Gaea from the first album. Everything somehow slowly, quietly and splashing.
I think that's a real shame because the voice of the singer is beautiful and clear.
One senses the potential of the "Ethno-Tolkien-Pop" and I love Oonagh still, but this album stinks against his predecessor in terms of "uniqueness" just off.

So still my heart

Of course, I'm already looking forward to a new album and I hope that the next album might bring European, medieval sounds!
