My 4-year-old son had the previous Steckdosenschutz for gluing of IKEA from the socket get (unfortunately comes too easy) and then unnoticed at first put us 2 wooden sticks into the wall socket. Fortunately DRY wooden sticks - so close sometimes luck and bad luck apart, especially with us only the wet rooms are equipped with RCD (yet !!). When we noticed the evening (sticks were still in the socket), we were in shock and simultaneous feeling of happiness almost to ... !! The decision was clear - it must be something new, safer ago! So read on the internet and slyly made Amazon to look, quickly was clear: It should be a screw-socket protection.
Unfortunately, almost all deals are inundated with negative reviews - eventually we came across this property, which also has some negative reviews. These criticisms include the following in most reviews:
- Steckdosenschutz falls apart
- Plug covers does not fit into the socket
- Mechanism does not work after installation
Nevertheless, we have dared to order this Steckdosenschutz, critical reviews were 2-3, who pointed to obvious application error. We can now confirm for the most part !! With a little savvy in the head and logic one has here a top product that does the job extremely satisfying - and all at a great price!
- Yes, the outlet protection falls apart very easily, no question - is because the mechanism of "open" and is able to jump the springs out quickly. BUT: If you can count to 3, you can assemble this in a few seconds again. Tip: Press the plug covers the "incorporation" into the outlet is not centered, then it falls apart immediately. Dear press the respective left and right nose with a small screwdriver in the appropriate groove of the socket, bit by bit and nothing is falling apart! Which brings us to the next point ...
- Yes, the outlet protection is (at least for me), a little stiff to install, this is due to the 2 small tabs (left and right), which barely fit into the grooves of the socket - but this is certainly so intended, and can be, as already above, using a small screwdriver or the like relatively easily inserted into the corresponding groove (in press). But it may certainly also be a handful outlets which deviate very far from the norm, and the whole thing front and rear does not fit - I do not like to judge. For me at least it was perfect!
- The mechanism works only not when tightening the screw screw! Then squeeze the mechanism and clear - then nothing goes more! Normally tighten the screw, not too loose, not too tight - and everything runs smoothly !!
About possibly short screws, I can say nothing, for me, everything was perfect! But it may also here surely give sockets where the screw will bear no room - perhaps as willed by their manufacturers, in order to buy more expensive outlets that have a Child Protection, FI-switch or the like installed at the factory! The outlet protection from Reer is anyway very thin, much thinner think you can not make such a system - it is supposed to stay safe! Here you can Reer not blame.
All in all, a great product, I would always buy me again - especially for the price !!
