Doctor Who: The Stone Rose (Doctor Who (BBC Hardcover)) (Hardcover)

Customer Review

The Book:
The book has a liquid narrative style and is simply written. Because of this simplicity, it seemed to me, however, particularly at the beginning of every now and then as a children's book before. Some parts of the book are very predictable, and others are really complicated when the bigger picture to be considered. The book is like the series a mixture of simple and very intellegent written parts.

I started the book and not put to the end of the hand, though it was sometimes a bit long-winded. (As I said, some sites were very predictable). At the end of the book (and even sometimes in the middle indoors) I had some time on the real flow, consider the relationship with the series and the story progression, resulting in a slight headache (yes, so good are some places in the book).

The Characters:
Rose, Mikey and Rose's mother are very well described and I found myself repeatedly doing, I joined their voices with the statements in the book. As well as the characters that story were taking place after the 2nd episode of the second season very consistent with those in the film.

The Doctor was every now and then like David, but sometimes also as Christopher portrayed. Sure, the Authorin could during the writing do not know how the character of the 10th doctor would develop, but I've sometimes thought that would not say DT, or not do. These sites corresponded more to the character of the 9th Doctor. Ok, I think you realize that I'm a fan ;-)
Ah yes, the "kiss" - I found him senseless and would not have included him. But this is very subjective.

The historical background:
I would not understand the book as a history lesson for history muffle as it has dubbed a Rezesent. Although you can get a glimpse, but in the end there is not much more than having an episode of Rome (the series) look at. I, for my part, can not say that I've learned something by the book now.

Conclusion:
Interestingly written book that is predictable in some places, but on the whole, thought-provoking. The characters are mostly taken very well and come to life through the book. I can recommend it to anyone, it is precisely because it still takes up an episode of Season 5 aired and this does not include the 10th Doctor. (There are currently 30 books heraußen with David Tennant and this is the first, so a lot of reading material.) General recommendation to buy but you should not expect too much not.

Why is it then gets "only" 4 stars: As I said, I find that sometimes it was too predictable and the characters were not always accurately described.
