Customer Review

I bought this book on the advice of a presenter of literary programs which offered to reimburse the disappointed players. I almost hesitate to call it "FB hello sir, I did not really like!"

The novel already seems too short (180 pages, written large enough) to clearly identify the two main characters and this on more than forty years. I do not claim that this is impossible, but it would at least be a genius of literature, which does not seem to be the case Kéthévane Davrichewy. Fairly well structured, numerous flashbacks are very well managed. But the novel is based on a still dramatic fireworks (it is better not to reveal) without which the whole edifice collapses and becomes a banal story of friendship-love as he came to millions of people.

I totally understand that one can be in this upsets histoire.Les women in general there will be more sensitive (although men are not all big macho) but not fail. From his own experience, his own experience, you will find this amazing novel or downright banal opposite. Written in a sober style, a little cold or clinical at times, the novel lacks some anecdotal, picturesque, palpable, human. The sets are poorly described, music exemplified little or no commentary, all missing for me a lot of heat, odor, not quite sensual in short.

The story seemed very manufactured, unnatural sounding with many details wrong. When, for example in the 80s, Alice and Cécile pretend sing Lucio secretly (because it's cheesy) and assert their friends prefer to Yes, Genesis and Deep Purple, one must have a total disregard for musical habits of time. When they evoke the 23rd piano concerto by Mozart, not a word about the sublime adagio! Cecilia admits frigid, but not the heart anyway? We often feel an automatic chronological catalog, which will delight those who find old memories buried, but a literary principle a little cheap for a great novel.

It seems to me that we too often tend to confuse the history of value itself, its uplifting side (or not) and its literary result. This is not because we find ourselves in events, emotions, for their literary necessarily give a masterpiece.

Apparently fan of Julien Clerc, the author seems to have inspired to the title of the song "The Divided" (written by Marcelline Desbordes-Valmore).

A novel advise if you are a bit blue flower (it is not pejorative) and if the style is not your first concern. Go Mr. François B., I keep it, I have friends who go to-do-rer!
