Folklore (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Those who know the former things of 16 Horsepower, this album probably find unusually quiet (very restrained drumming and rather slow pace). The songs that almost melancholic and gloomy sound (apart from "Single Girl" and "La Robe A Parasol"), are mostly 16hp-settings of old folk songs (eg "Outlaw Song", "Horse Head Fiddle" or "Sinnerman" But be) next to it, also 4 separate pieces on offer ("Hutterite Mile", "Blessed Persistence", "Beyond The Pale" and "Flutter").
The mention of other reviewers, the cover pieces would have to be country-heavy, I can not agree.

"Folklore" was the first album by 16 Horsepower that I bought (in a test) and I thought it was terrific - until someone told me 16hp would actually sound quite different. Out of curiosity and out of principle I've the rest of course also led to heart and found it great in spite of the difference. Do not worry so before this panel.
