The MT-D is made in a case in glossy piano-black finish. This means that it is "slippery" is something in his hands. The assessed here M2 other hand has a slightly roughened case. Thus, it is a bit better in the hand and also annoying fingerprints are no longer visible. Plus point for the M2.
The housing of the M2 is a few millimeters thick, but not disruptive or clunky. A positive feature is that the battery compartment cover, which looked worked very hard and unclean concluded the MT-D, now no longer exists. Instead, the entire back housing shell is removed to remove the battery / use.
The display of M2 is slightly larger, so that it can be much better read than its predecessor model. The backlight of the display is down much more evenly. Another plus for the M2.
The keyboard of the M2 has been completely redesigned: the individual keys are now out individually, so that they can be blind well palpated. A positive feature is that there is now a key backlight. This could, however, be somewhat more evenly. The old MT-D had no backlit keys and they were mounted flush with the casing, so that the blind use a little heavier than the new M2 fell.
Call quality has been compared to the MT-D significantly improved (my subjective assessment). In particular, the speakerphone was not really good usable in MT-D. In contrast, the M2 is functioning properly. I suspect that it is related to the new enclosure design, as well as the Speaker was modified.
The user interface of both devices is the same. Like other reviewers have described, the device integrates very well in the Fritz box base station.
I would recommend the M2, so it gets me 5 stars.
Even the support of AVM is first class: something you will not find with other manufacturers by far. This is also a reason to buy a product from the German manufacturer AVM for me.
