It is impossible to deny that behind the "Black Star Riders" the members of the legendary rock band "Thin Lizzy" hide. After some members of "Thin Lizzy" record new songs would they have not done out of respect for the deceased "Phil Lynott" under the original band name, but for the "Black Star Riders" came into being. Still, she can not hide who they are, after the first notes of everyone would only little knowledge of music has to cry out loud: "These are THIN LIZZY!" Musically and vocally that is unmistakable and I think also the "Phil Lynott" really fun "Killer Instinct" would. Right at the start is a purposed with the title track, a real "Thin Lizzy anthem", a fleet ID, distinctive and brilliant! In this style, it also goes further, with "Bullet Blues", "Finest Hour" and "Soldier Town" are more of these liquors and distinctive songs at the start. In "Charlie I gotta go," the songwriter of Charles Manson were inspired - still a really great song of one remains in the memory immediately. With "Blind Sided" have the "Black Star Riders" this time also a really strong ballad at the start - awesome, one of the highlights of this album! After this short break, it goes as usual continues, "through the motions", "Sex, Guns & Gasoline", "Turn your arms" and "You Little Liar", these typical rock numbers that sound simply by "Thin Lizzy". It should be noted would be that's on the bonus CD with "Gabrielle" a really nice ballad and acoustic number at the start - for this reason, the purchase of "Digibook-Edition" has paid off for me. With "The Reckoning Day" is yet another rock song included, the remaining four songs are just acoustic versions of other titles, but very well done so I would recommend something is this edition each. "Killer Instinct" has become a very good album in which I could not see any big weaknesses, even stopgap are absent. The album has a very experienced and sprayed this particular "old school charm" I like very much.
My conclusion: Who "Thin Lizzy" liked with this album should have fun and really get their money. The "Black Star Riders" are well aware of their past and try not to invent anything new until they just what they do best - very good rock music with Phil Lynott his fun had!
