Those who bought the trilogy Lewis will be glad to see the resurgence of the Hebrides in "The Island of the oath." Peter May addressed in this novel lémigration forced Canada to the people of these islands in the historical context of the Famine of the potato. Thus an invisible bridge connects the island Madeleine in Canadian Scottish island of Lewis and murder of this echoes an oath of the past.
I always enjoy reading Peter May, who has a mastery alternating narratives of two eras. However, I must confess my Quici the result seemed a bit unbalanced. If i was completely charmed by his dive in the past (all the more that jignorais all of this dark chapter of history), its plot in this, despite interesting characters, my against a little disappointed.
