105s / Aperture 2.0 = ****
85er / Aperture 2.0 = *****
In Aperture 2.8:
105s = ****
'85 = *****
70-200er = ***
Aperture 3.5
105s = *****
'85 = ****
70-200er = ****
Aperture 4.0
105s = ***** +
'85 = *****
70-200er = *****
These comparisons were only sharpness test, in all the tests I have taken a similar focal length, as far as it was possible. The Bokeh is beim70-200er and 200mm at its best, then the 105s comes with a slight advantage over the 85er.
The 85er has naturally at f 1.6 a great bokeh, but the depth of field at the full frame is also very low because the model may not move cm back or front. :-)
Conclusion: The 105 / F2.0 DC will be my favorite lens, with the DC function, it is unbeatable.
AF-S 70-200 / f2.8 VRII is also a must in every backpack and the AF 85 / 1.4D IF is simply unbeatable for wedding documentary in lowlight. So each of the lenses is justified.
