As a fan, I like the purity and clarity of Schiller, the airy expanse that opens up through its sounds. The relaxing electronic soundscape which is lower than all the compost ion, is far (enough) away from esoteric relaxing music, although the pieces all come up with a certain simplicity.
Of course, everything has a high recognition value, a familiarity that is perceived as uniformity from time to time, but in reality simply is style. Schiller has his musical niche. The music has its roots in the Chillout and electronic music. Gern are here called Jean-Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream - musical parallels nevertheless crowd actually not so much. Tangerine Dream developed most pieces of loops, music phrases that are repeated and is built on (and from which) always something new. In Schiller rather the melody is in the foreground, the classic song format. Rhythmically both not resemble, precisely because Tangerine Dream completely refuse the usual Bums Gossip clocks. Schiller also absent despite two drummers percussion, creating a somewhat sterilerer impression.
Schiller represents immediate catchiness and simplicity, but not a lack of ideas.
"Sun", through its immense length lengths also require at least if you listen through the CDs in one. It falls not easy to relax enough for (much) more than two hours in order to engage in the work. You also have to let go once, to want to make from everyday life, from reality and the desire besides music is something else. What is certain is that music for driving, music that you can run to read, but basically this music was written to get away from it and not to accompany him.
Nevertheless, not everything is pure peace and quiet, on the contrary, the work is bursting with life and energy. Especially the sung titles stand out here. "Epic Shores" is a blast, which entrains a. "Energy" also does not promise too much. The instrumentals "sea of lights" stands out. Nevertheless, I think this time no real outliers downwards. In addition to praise the wonderful voices, which hath opened Deylen again.
The new Schiller CDs are like an ocean, the known times soothing, sometimes lively and always familiar acts, emerging from the ever new islands: unique and beautiful. Rock music is, however, a white water and is primarily not loved for the beauty, but his rabaukenhafte vitality.
You can love both the mountains and the lake, rock and pop. "In the moon are the dreams in the stars hope the sun's life," says von Deylen. I can not add anything more.
