I already had a little Sony in-ear active noise reduction that I use for journeys by train or plane. I wanted the beefier for noise reduction. First I hesitated a lot between the Bose QC15 and the new Parrot ZIK, both at 350 euros, I tried twice in FNAC. The first well above the "noise canceling" delivers sound that I find sour; the second, by its superb design and practicality, did not convince me at all side noise reduction.
The Audio Technica ATH-ANC9 was chronicled as better than the ZIK and equivalent to Bose by Digital [...]; it is classified as better than the Bose by American articles [...]. I ventured to the order on Amazon without trying, knowing that if too great disappointment, I could always return.
No regrets so far. Rather, this headset gives me full satisfaction as musically as noise reduction.
I can work in my bubble with the washing machine which turns off (analog noise train or plane) or with children who heckle above. Use the office to stay focused despite the noise outside. Without nap hear construction noise (openings) that spread in the building. All this with music to a minimum. Or without music, if any.
I appreciate the opportunity to choose between three noise reduction methods (this is the only headset to offer this). The mode "quiet" attenuates any residual noise (I can barely hear the clicking of the keyboard) without generating the breath of the other modes for noisy environments or train / airplane. In these other modes, the breath is covered by music even at the minimum, but it is still sensitive. (This breath is that of symmetrical sound wave to outside noise recorded by sensors and helmet that neutralizes noise; it is present on all headphones noise reduction.)
Overall a great buy, cheaper than the Bose or ZIK (285 euros against 350), which does the job more satisfactorily and the music and noise reduction. What to ask for?
