Force Majeure (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Chris Franke and Edgar Froese laid in 1979 with "Force Majeure" their second album after the departure of Peter Baumann ago.
As already on the predecessor "Cyclone" to let the two of Klaus Krieger (actually Kruger) support on drums.
On Steve Joliffe was abandoned this time; particularly his singing met with listeners of the Berlin Electronic rock pioneers Tangerine Dream on surprisingly little Begeisterung.Vocals were then first non-issue at TD.
The Virgin appeared in "Force Majeure" is thus an instrumental album, as actually lived by TD.
It differs in a point noticeably by hydrolysis with and the following: there is therefore much more rock.
Warrior driving drumming in conjunction with Froese's guitar can locally rise a true progressive rock feel, the keyboard sounds to the fit.
Is sometimes criticized that the two longtracks would not look very close, more like ragtag Short tracks.
In "Thru Metamorphic Rocks" I agree as to, the actually consists of two real individual pieces, but what `s?
The disc is varied, rocks, and has a huge fun factor, because should not nag you.
Short Parts of the album were remixed used for the soundtrack to "Risky Business", the highly hypnotic rhythmic second part of "Thru Metamorphic Rocks" formed the basis for "Igneus" the strong soundtrack "Thief", but only in passing.
With "Force Majeure" TD has developed a music that offers not only the usual spherical, electronically-progressive sounds and the spatial sound image an unusually high dose of sheer rock.
I hear the album incredibly happy, especially as on.The offset the conclusion to the second part of "Thru ..." in an almost trance-like state repetitive Sequencerläufe with effects and the loud, aggressive individual tones form again a real, pretty funky contrast to the material before it.

The recording quality is OK, the old record sounds very spatially.
The first CD-series in 1995 replaced by a remastered series.
This "Definitive Edition" was well remastered by Simon Heyworth; he used even "Super Bit Mapping" (SBM) by Sony, suggesting that he was serious about the sound revision.
Unfortunately, he has but reduces the dynamic range, they are just in the middle.
