Risen 2 has me in parts very disappointed in what was more concerned that I was expecting a direct successor of Part 1. Although now it is yes it Risen, but in my eyes this is a completely newly translated game. Just a few little things to connect the second part with the first part.
The Story
Anyone who thinks a story in RPG was getting a bit boring and it was normal to provide any great story, which is wrong. Because: role playing live on to present a great story. Ranging from Final Fantasy, to Gothic, towards Witcher or Mass Effect. The good story is experienced should thus be already there. Risen 1 fulfilled this only weak, but Risen 2 makes it even worse. Without giving much away: Apart from a few unpredictable turns, you know immediately from the start what is expected a. And that's not even good. Ultimately, the presentation in the Caribbean flair is very well done.
The combat system
While Risen 1 was pretty good (tactical options were given, one fought against different opponents and different) is in Risen 2 rather totgekliche, rumgerolle and popular frustration. One of the points that disappointed me most.
The RPG elements
Experience is no longer there. For fame points which after a certain number of self-employed in a menu in improvements can be created. The first change anything, because you will still need a lot of gold for each to buy certain skills. Ich finds empty and there is no development character. By the end played my hero is always the same, did the same things. Weapons and armor are sporadic ine iner variety there. They usually have the same attack value / defense value.
Graphic
Not very good, not very bad and it all looks reasonable. Anyone can decide at its discretion. I find fine.
Risen 2 has this Gothic / Risen 1 mentality while playing. It is gequestet slaughtered monsters and things collected in the known art. But the pirate setting affects me too childish and RPG is not more in it.
It seems to me as an action-adventure. If the game for 10 - are 20 euros, I would strike, about it not.
