Brandish swords
Even before the story, in which one is thrown without Vorerklärungen, makes the initial disappointment does not stop. The abrupt entry would have to be not so bad, because if would later be followed by further details' but I was wrong. The construct is so thin and tangled told that you can not really will notice most of the time, why actually trudges through the countryside and villains vertrimmt. But to be honest: That makes also nix. "Blades of Time" is clearly designed as a fast paced action game in which the plot anyway plays only a subordinate role. Instead Gajin Entertainment relies on fleet battles that play largely liquid and well go out of hand. The powerful magic attacks good times, the Schwertgeschnetzel anyway 'sole control of long-range weapons designed to unnecessarily complicated: That the Wumme (press down the right analog stick) necessarily by pressing R3 pull must then but with L2 (left shoulder button) targeted enemies, is neither intuitive nor understandable. So the battles against enemies on the ground and in the air occasionally hectic and especially at the beginning a little frustrating.
Time game!
The single player component of the game is therefore reflected for a budget game quite considerably. If you get used to the peculiarities of control, making the Action neat fun. Smaller weaknesses in terms of graphics or level design are quickly forgotten by the fast staged, demanding battles. Particularly noteworthy is the interesting "Time Rewind" feature. The rewind function expands but very conventional game play to a new component that works really well and is also involved play relevant: Some puzzles can not solve without the use of features, and some opponents are so armored that two Ayumi must slap to they squelch.
Better alone than badly accompanied
Hardly noteworthy, however, is the multiplayer mode, which actually deserves no separate paragraph 'Finally, he is at best a more or less entertaining adding that one but also could have saved. The few maps 'just three piece provides Gajin with' and the simple gameplay are too boring, so the online fun remains very limited. There are also annoying lags and the lack of "Time Rewind" feature cherished, which further detracts from the fun.
Conclusion
In many areas, it appears that Gajin Entertainment moves to the second Ayumi adventure in the right direction. Nevertheless, the game is often short of its potential to return 'a shame because some approaches are really good and fail only at the half-baked implementation times. The genre competition is great, so there is plenty much better alternatives on the market. Who has the classics already through, however, is permitted to operate at a reasonable price and the beautiful Ayumi hunt through an exciting adventure over long distances.
