During the first introductory words (voiced by Sam's son Elijah) in the intro of this disc it becomes clear which factors have influenced the recording of this album and the life of Samy Deluxe most: Samy sees himself as a father and this responsible position reflected in almost every song again and pushes this album on his own, unmistakable character. Almost every track seems directed to the own flesh and blood:
"Because I want my son says I am a man to whom he looks up /
A man is what builds up man to be the 'dream thought /
But at the same time a man who is there for him /
A man who understands what goes and also ensure that it is true. "
The lyrics are precise and deliberate, so that misunderstandings or freedom of interpretation fail almost. Many tracks appear at the same time Self-help for Sam's son, and the attempt to eliminate the error of his own father. Representing this issue is probably primarily "Father's Day" in which Sam takes the actual holiday as an approach to pick up the father / son issue and to reflect on the basis of his own life - If a father is there, to the grandparents, in this case, grandma serve, and so there is the "Grandma Song" in the track list. Here, however, in the form of a tasty Thanksgiving to all grandma's, especially Sam's grandmother Emma. =)
You can argue only about the autotune-like effect in the Hook. "Superhero" is about Sam's relationship with his offspring, in the skin color seems to play a greater role. So Daddy Deluxe for example refers to the fact that his son one evening wished to be white. The conclusion, however, very positive: A head high-Song in the Sam his son stated that he will be his personal superhero forever and he alone Sam the daily drive adds to not give up. My personal highlight is to be found, however, in "First" and the message:
"You want to see me fall, I did not let it get /
Will 'that I keep quiet' but I let 'me do not prohibit the mouth /
Your envy always makes me only more /
and your hate makes me always harder. "
"who am I?" it applies also to emphasize - a kind gerappter resume in the Sam deals with his person and the personal quintessence draws. The same applies to the playful "We are no longer children," which follows not only in direct connection, but also takes up with a lot of chanting, the subject matter and continues.
But completely unclear to me is how they came up with the title track "Silent (Xenja)", because here I spontaneously falls everything was content to dwell except silence. Above all, the grandiose vocals and mesmerizing intro of this song bring to Vibes, of whom one should bring expensive glasses in security. The fact that this work will be presented at the upcoming tour with a live band, is also an aspect which makes up this album and will make a concert probably inevitable. "Anyway heavy" brings a certain Caribbean / reggae flair with and might just as well at sunset at the beach to a little dance with the loved ones echo through the night. Vocal and harmonic Accustics provide the rest for a relaxed summer song. The melody is reminiscent partly on the soundtrack to the hit adventure "Monkey Iceland" what more sympathy points brings.
With "Until the sun comes out" the crown is the whole, however, set up and Sam presents a summery Raggae- / radio Tune, who might be the next theme song Langnese advertising as well. Due to Sam's skills the whole remains audible after the tenth repetition in a permanent loop I must, however, admit to myself that this song my personal definition of do not like strikes, not least is probably because that to me this book is simply to genre strange, as that the traditional rap fan still could filter any positive aspects of it. Live! - In tipsy state, I, however, am ready to change my opinion.
The title song "Dis is where I Herkomm" already made in advance of the release because of the public debate between Samy Deluxe and Taz writer Daniel Erk, and the sometimes violent criticisms of the SZ and the Vice magazine for discussion. The ridiculous allegations made by Mr. Erk represent only the embarrassing attempt based threadbare covers to negate the clear statement more than a really positive songs and to put in a bad light to call the Hitler theme on the scene. I for my part can agree Sam vollstens and am very happy with the final product.
