"The Rock" is the composition of a trio, which is very rare in film music. The reasons are easy to explain. Michael Bay, the director, was with the original music of his film dissatisfied and therefore had to find a new composer. Because only four weeks were to compose a completely new music for the film, were summarily Hans Zimmer, Nick Glennie-Smith (eg "We were soldiers") and Harry Gregson-Williams (among others "Spy Game") is committed. These three, which is already well known (Media Ventures Team!), now had under the enormous pressure of time of four weeks, Michael Bay acceptable piece, write (for comparison, in Gladiator wrote Hans Zimmer six months), but who now believes that a notgedrungenes and quickly executed lubricated piece has arisen another think coming. In spite of the short time the three is an excellent music succeeded. Overall, the piece of three Themes is embossed, which can become earwigs (which is rarely the case in the room. That's rather the John Williams style) In the first track, "Hummel gets the Rockets' these three themes are incorporated and liquid intertwined, so that a quick piece develops. Except for Track 3 and 7 ("Jade" and "Fort Walton Kansas") are all pieces of Action emphasized. In "Jade" and "Fort Walton Kansas" on the other hand is a built new theme which rather reflects a funny and happy atmosphere. What is, however, a little disturbing are the partially elongated breaks in the tracks "Masons Walk" and "Rocket Away" (even if "Rocket Away" but overall one of the best pieces represents on the CD.) Overall, the music is performed by the synthesizer (and this in turn by Room). The work is very action-stressed and fast. Especially by the Action Themes there is very plastic and liquid acts. An excellent CD and a brilliant Action Core, which is perhaps the best room since the famous Media Ventures Action Music is probably at its peak here!
