To predecessor RACE 07 There is no improvement in the graphics engine, only the textures in the menus can be easily changed (in RACE 07 überwiegte light blue color, with GTR Evolution mainly red). Therefore, I am surprised also that the minimum and recommended system requirements for GTR Evolution be significantly higher than in the base game RACE costs 07.

Most Internet servers are already switched to GTR Evolution Server, so I advise against the purchase of Race 07. You should also switch to GTR Evolution or equal to buy this product, because you can play with so many more people.

Driving behavior:
Compared to other racing games is the drivability relatively realistic (with disabled driving aids), but not nearly as difficult and close to realism as in the previous GTR2. Therefore suitable for beginners as well as professionals.

Graphics:
Graphically the game is appealing, but you should not expect any complicated reflections (eg from other cars). Graphically, the game for example with "Race Driver: GRID" not keep up, but it is also resource-saving. The paintwork of the cars as well as the shapes of the tracks are detailed and close to the original.

Damage detail:
Not particularly high, the purchaser of this game should not scare you though, because you rather hopes here on a realistic driving experience and a realistic racing feeling and not on detailed scrap heap, such as back in the games "Flatout 2" or "Race Driver: GRID "looks.

Internet connection:
Even with a small DSL connection (here: 1000) is there to play no problem, but hosting is therefore not recommended (no more than 4 players). Whether you like the exclusive Cooperation with "Steam" for Internet and LAN play or not, everyone can look different. I personally do not like that you also must call every time the Steam client to start the game. However, but all updates published by SimBin are downloaded automatically when you start Steam, which brings the advantage that all servers and all the players are on the latest version within 2 days.

Routes / Car diversity:
8 different racing classes with partly subdivisions, all sufficient in all rail car. Some cars are similar in handling very unfortunately, but not all! The existing 32 routes can be significantly expanded through downloads from many communities. (See the same!)

Community:
RACE 07 has a relatively large community (but not nearly as great as in GTR2). The game comes with 32 default routes to home, now the communities have but more than 100 home-made routes and numerous custom car paint, which can be easily added to the existing game. In addition, these communities also have major forums where one can speak about all kinds of issues and events.

Control:
Can indeed be operated with keyboard, but I would never recommend! A good force feedback steering wheel for this game in my opinion required! (I myself use a recommended Logitech G25)

Overall impression:
Thoughtful game, is that regularly improved by SimBin with new automatic updates through Steam and also constantly expanded by new functions! (Eg an added menu boxes, lighting effects etc ...)
