Ship Simulator 2012

Positives:
The game looks really chic for a simulator. In particular, the Cologne Cathedral and the Düsseldorf Rheinkniebrücke have me as I am there often, very enthusiastic. The ships are implemented very detalliert and work for a non-Schiffer as very authentic me. There are 6 ships in the game (container, freight, tank, push, passenger ship and ferry) and a seventh small boats that you get with the first patch. In the control I had only purely Peeve because many devices have been implemented and are waiting in the cockpit a lot of buttons, displays and levers on the ambitious boatmen. :) Manual and included in the game course, which serves as a tutorial, and a tooltip feature but have helped. Overall, controlling the ships feels quite realistic and provides the amateur boatmen especially during maneuvers like driving at docks in front of really exciting challenges. The converted distance from the Dutch border to Frankfurt I feel at the level of detail of the environment as more than adequate and very well done.
The aim of the game is to fill orders by freight transported from A to B. There have been implemented for this purpose various ports, you can also execute multiple jobs in parallel to always be loaded as possible. I particularly like that you can control the cranes at the port also.

By fulfilling orders and rumfährt, obtained experience points will be unlocked by the then more ships.

Positive I would also like to name the time-lapse function, you can see the time and anticipation 10X 5X leave and must not drive long distances in real time. An autopilot is incidentally also included, if you want to save the route.

In the package also a beautiful poster is, on the one hand the cockpits of boats with functional descriptions, on the other hand a map of the navigable route.

Negatives:
It disturbed me out a bit difficult control from the cockpit. The view is still sorely limited. After I got used to the hotkeys, but it went very well with the other camera settings.

The problem partly drivability when turning has designed for me, on a trip through the Rhine Valley, I could not turn my passenger ship and had to give up this job. I hope that the developers still nachpatchen here, a patch function is so integrated into the game.

Pity is that you can not own dock in the harbor, but the program that takes itself. That I would have imagined it very exciting.

Conclusion:
I'm pretty gone straight taken on this item approach. From a simulator (now the genre is indeed on its peculiarities known) I did not expect that I can control ships with decent graphics that would otherwise go on the Rhine past me. And that's what I got with this product. The technique of ships is implemented exciting and acts realistically, flow and banks provide partially for heartbeat moments when you once again the 10x-gatherer had in there and hardly comes around the corner. I enjoy to load the ships in the harbor and the speedboat fetzt. A star I pull from based on the above criticisms. For me, the 20 have definitely worth it, I will more often in the evening after work ride ship and am now waiting for the first mods.
