Star Trek Online - mediocrity in space

Would Basically Star Trek (Online) just fine as a single-player game: The bottom line first. Since not but can make as much money with single player games, it has interposed a server and hung the word "Online" behind the title. Because actually are currently only the patches (expensive) pay and use the chat and a bit of PvP (Klingons against Starfleet). More interaction between players is not at all necessary.

Well, there are instances where you will be thrown with other randomly out dice players to beat there great battles or to do a ground mission, or you can fleets reasons (these are the Trekker-clans) and with his new friends by playing some missions, but that was by and large but even with the multiplayer part.

And that's for an MMO (RPG I talk rather not) far too little. Therefore, I agree with one of my Vortester to: Just wait two-three, better six months. If it then STO-Online still is, it looks to you. Perhaps you can then also at no additional cost to use trial month. The current state of the game I'm afraid, however, that it will not last long and the players will run, even if the promises and announcements of Cryptik still sound so tempting. For me it's not enough, I'll trial (with compulsory purchased months) -Abo instantly determined not renew.

And here's my view positive on match:

+ It's Star Trek! Even if it looks funny.
+ To the missions start to repeat themselves (4 shooting from ships, collect 3 Artfakte, the scientists save the planet - and now again from scratch the whole), these are quite funny!
+ Beautiful the story missions, which are held in the format of a TV episode 40 minutes of playing time, often combined into one long story arc. Nice!
+ There Tribbels!
+ Spaceships and characters can be prima adapt and create!

However, the negative outweighs:

- Gruesome Denglish, inadequate translations!
- The graphics reminds me of the old Star Trek animated series, a pity because it was much playful (it is after all only Cryptiks "Champions Online" -. Only in the universe and with cooler suits)
- Everything repeats itself: from missions, to look the enemy (in Klingon, Gorn and so there is the benefit of just 5 different personalities / textures)
- No identification with his bridge officers: I get about a Vulcan science officer, this may give a name, and equip them with skills - that's it then also. It lacks a personal bond, the old X-Com series has well solved: There, the soldiers were "mortal", thus the player has paid more attention to this ...
- There are still many, many small bugs and often lags (servers in the US)
- No roleplaying server / range! So much for the atmosphere.
- Battles in space are currently only a wild clicking but "firing all weapons" and the permant press the control so that the pot always nice broadside shows and all phaser banks may be fired as possible. Besides paying attention to the shields and occasionally uses a special officer skills. If you destroy, you wait 10 seconds and then picks up where you left off - as if nothing had happened. The boat is in top shape, the team has suffered no losses. All screen of death are completely without consequences. That is far too little, no challenge and very boring. Even the old Star Trek: Command was there more exciting.
- There is much unfinished: missing textures in space sector to faulty emissions. Ok, that can happen, but the beta is over and so I'm assuming that at least do the rudimentary parts of the game.
