Theater of the Mind (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Christopher Bridges aka Ludacris has enjoyed a remarkable career since his debut in 2008: Three-time Grammy winner, co-founder of Disturbing Tha Peace and with over 15 million CDs sold worldwide most successful southern states-MC of all time. Just like his longtime enemy TI he released his now 6th major album this fall. Conceptually, "Theater of the Mind" as a kind of movie created, each song as a kind of scene. Let's see if his idea is an Oscar ...
It starts with a completely wacky voice that invites one in Ludacris' world. The Runners will have responsibility for the appropriate beat. This makes the intro together with Luda's rhymes a suitable beginning for a good album!
Continue with "Undisputed" with producer Don Cannon and co-star Floyd Mayweather, who here in the boxing ring to the side advises it as soon as the bell rings! Gorgeous blues beat, reminiscent of days gone by Cannons production services. Round 1 goes clear to the Ludameister.
Then we honored DJ Toomp a Burnerbeat the roughest. This 2. Single longstanding counterparties TI & Ludacris ended their beef. OK then! This song knows how to please. Luda stings TI here, just as in "On Top of the World" by Tip's Paper Trail, in which the trio TI, Luda & Toomp also is at the start.
Then beat Mr. Bridges & T-Pain at some shallower tones. T-Pain is one else not to my favorites, but his talent for such cuddly numbers is indisputable. For this, the Track Masters (Poke & Tone) put a nice Clapbeat underneath what the matter increases again.
After that comes with "Call up the homies" again tidy "Hood Mentality" by The Game, Luda & Willy Northpole let the phone slip directly to ATL & Compton ...
The next "scene" then "Southern Gangsta", the first really big South-bangers on the album. Announced by a speaker still show Playaz Circle & Ricky Ross aka The Boss on the dark Street Runners beat at their best. Especially Rick Ross' rough voice fits perfectly with the mood of the song. A successful wiedermal ATL-MIA combination! And even without chorus.
"Everybody Hates Chris" with Chris Rock Blödel Barde Don Cannon is responsible for the beat again very groovy therefore, probably because just like "Undisputed" again. Rather average song.
"What Them Girls Like" is then the Club Banger in between, Chris Brown and Sean Garrett is also one of the party. All three know what the girls like, and the Darkchild beat will be one or the other DJ lie the plate at the top of the club, quite successful!
Another Florida-feature on "Nasty Girl": Plies' pesky voice, an equally unconvincing Ludameister and synth droning of Swizz Beatz but make the track a Lowlight (!). Swizz should rather stay at the best he can.
That Scott Storch now received less Clubbanger but rather on shallower numbers it shows again on "Contagious" with Jamie Foxx. However, all parties do well, wonderfully chill makes especially Jamie the song worth listening to.
With "Last of a Dying Breed" a real Mega Crusher is because the pompous-imposing Beat fits perfectly with Luda's crass rhymes and Lil 'Wayne's voice, who raps tidy for a change again. The chorus reveals to what the track is good: "MC Means move the crowd"!
WOW! DJ Premier with a really thick New York Beat on "MVP!" Unfamiliar to Mr. Bridges, but he does his job on this gem of Premier really good! The gescratchte chorus fits here like chalk and cheese, very horny solo track from Luda.
"I do it for Hiphop" is similarly successful, because with Ludacris, Nas & Jay-Z on a track can not do too much wrong! Smoother song.
"Do the Right Thing" with Common and Spike Lee is again a highlight, the thus coming with trumpets and flutes Beat by 9th Wonder convinces completely! Both guests do the rest! Use your Brain homie, do the right thing!
Luda manages a really good album here. Certainly not a classic will go down in the annals of history Down South, but a good album anyway. As Anspieltips be "Southern Gangsta", "Last of a Dying Breed", "MVP" and "Do the right thing" are!
Fans of Luda be accessed here anyway, but also all the other was this album definitely recommended. 4 stars.
