Streisand`s Yentl surpasses anything!

Barbara Streisand`s tremendous Wille gave rise to this film based on a short story by Isaac Bashevis Singer. She had already bought the rights to the 70, but no one wanted to make the film. At the end of the Streisand took over not only the director and the lead role, she also produced the film himself, so she was anxious. With this story, she tried to cope with a part of their lives. Her father died when she was 15 months old. Completely fatherless grew up she and her mother did not believe in a singing career of her daughter. The Streisand had to fight through without support. With 28 years she was at the peak of their success. She had the 5 major US prices (Oscar, Golden Globe, Tony Award, Emmy Award and Grammy Award) won - that is unique!
The story "Yentl" takes place in a poor Jewish village in Eastern Europe. Pogroms are commonplace and many migrate to the United States.
The Streisand plays a daughter who adores her father, who is in the rabbi. When he dies, the daughter makes a man "Yentl" in disguise, to study the scriptures in a Talmudic school. This is in fact only men reserved. She stands out for her tremendous knowledge and befriends a man. Erotic tangles accumulate in a wedding with two women. It reveals itself and flees to America.
A wonderful film, with a great actress and singer Streisand. One senses that she hung with her whole heart and soul in this project. The soundtrack is one of the nicest and most emotional I've ever heard. Worth listening to again and again, even after almost 20 years.
The film is probably the most wonderful Streisand movie you always like to see, and especially also hear!
