First of all: Travis are back, in time-honored fashion. '12 Memories' builds roughly up where 'The' left off and provides to its predecessor 'Man Who The Invisible Band' as a melodic content Contrast ago. Musically, it impresses with its balance, with strong, catchy melodies and artful touches with Beatles-sounds. 'Quicksand' is probably the best opener for 'Writing to reach you' and varied than any title on the last album. It embodies the album, it has everything that finds the listener in the next titles. Up 'How many Hearts' shines '12 Memories' with powerful melodies and resolute texts. The fifth title is then even more ballad-like. 'Paper Clips' keeps the album exactly at its center like a (howling) hinged together. Getting used to the title is not. Highlight a title from the second half, would be unfair. Basically all have a peculiar luster. You are more leisurely, but not boring. For example, catchy 'Mid-Life Krysis' - its tempo changes one of the most beautiful songs of the album. That was the 12th title hidden, provides a parallel to 'The Man Who' ago. 'Some Sad Song' is as sad as once 'Blue Flashing Light', but a piano piece. Vocally it is somewhat reminiscent of 'More than us'. A worthy, promising conclusion, in Beatles style. Conclusion: The best album of Travis.
