Customer Review

Bill Callahan, with Will Oldham Perhaps the or at least one of the great songwriters of our time, has released a new album. And it has become no less extraordinary, such as its two predecessors.
With its somewhat monotonous baritone voice he wears unspectacular and calm his songs about loneliness ("Drinking while sleeping, strangers unknowingly keep me company / In the hotel bar, looking out a window That is not there / Looking at the carpet and the chairs / The only words I've Said today are beer and thank you / Beer / Thank you / Beer / Thank you / Beer "), against natural or love.
Behavior, soulful and profound, and always touching.

Musically this is accompanied by fiddle, flute, piano, a little guitar and congas, which injected many song a touch of funk. Gil Scott-Heron says hello. The album title says it all: The songs meander, flow and are very diverse arranged.

How can you call it? Is the Folk? Rock? Or Soul? Perhaps it is true then the rather stretchable term Americana best.

A cup of tea, maybe a good book, "Dream River" in the system and the dawn of autumn is the most beautiful season.
Callahan is a poet at a high level. Quite as many of these species does not exist.
