    I connected to a USB 2.0 port. and then connected to an external hard drive USB 3.0 port and work properly. by cons is not self powered, so need a power supply (included) once more

    I have not met the concerns raised by the other user. I use it on an ASUS ET2701INKI-B007C, connected to a USB3.0 socket (is that why?) In Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 pro The transfer speed is impressive (last test, 1.16 Gb 11sec)
