Technically convincing, processing and accessories with weaknesses

You need really a compact camera in the price sector well below 100 euros? Some will say no, because what may, every modern smartphone just as well done. The others will say: No, because reasonable Photography is only possible with devices for a few hundred euros and more.
I say, however: Yes, just as a small box belongs in the vacation in your hand luggage or on weekend trips in the glove compartment or purse, ie for all situations where it is not about photography as an art, but simply about capturing spontaneous moments and memories. Located then on the SD memory card, and which in turn is plugged in a few seconds in the home PC, and the images can be transferred there and worked. My experience with smartphones is that the synchronization with the computer is possible, but is much more complicated and takes longer.
The technical equipment of the Rollei 10841 is amazing for this price range, especially the artistic effects such as painting or drawing are nice gimmicks which is worth trying it. The monitor is a good size and good quality.
Let's talk about the shortcomings. The camera is easy, but just works or why not overly robust, the plastic casing downright cheap The delay in triggering is relatively long. With landscape photos that may not care, snapshots, however, be a problem. Annoying also that Rollei will save on the charger. It apparently assumes that now every household has at least one charger plug with USB port. This may be true, but then there are also at least as many freely available USB charging cable. This 99-cent item is just as superfluous, but is included. As I said, for the modern users no problem; tricky it might but for the few, mostly elderly, are users who rely on the digital camera because they precisely do not have mobile phone / smartphone and therefore not charging plug. There remains the possibility to charge the battery via USB cable to your computer or to specifically look for a camera that draws its energy from conventional batteries (eg the Nikon Coolpix).
Overall, the Rollei 10841 is suitable for everyday use camera with surprising features, but some weaknesses in the hardware (processing, accessories). From me just 4 stars, because there are at least for the called price not significantly better alternative, and because is not the lack of charger for me as a problem.
