With Terminator Salvation, Danny Elfman provides a new musical perspective for the re-launch of the franchise MCG. We did not get the beloved Terminator theme on this score (though it reportedly used in the film). Instead, we get an intelligent and respectful homage to the world of sound, the fiddle has created. The score is greater, spatial, of subdued guitars motifs to some of the darkest low brass that I've ever heard on a soundtrack. On this score everything is included. With "Opening" Elfman presented the title theme. A heroic motif that is heard primarily on Brass. It is strong and has quite catchy. While the score mostly loud and aggressive is ("Reveal / The Escape", "Hydrobot Attack", etc.), sound in "broadcast", "Fireside" and "Farwell" somewhat calmer and more melancholic sounds that are presented by emotional guitar playing. Elfman has delivered with Terminator Salvation one of his best scores since Planet of the Apes, but Fan's of the first two parts might be a little disappointed. Because the famous theme song of the series (as above written) unfortunately missing on this score. As Marco Beltrami in T-3, also Elfman found no use for it in Terminator Salvation. I think it's not so bad, the album has other qualities. Multi-faceted and stylish, no comparison to the soundtrack of the first three parts.
