Testamentary and unfinished symphony

The program of the last concerts of Claudio Abbado, in August 2013: two unfinished Schubert symphonies and Bruckner.A head of "his" orchestra Lucerne Italian chef offers us his musical testament (which is also the last work of Bruckner ), which was certainly not his intention, but this record is not a "product" like any other: it is the last record of Abbado, dedicated in addition to an often discussed composer and truly understood later on (see the beautiful Lucerne with the first).
So judge such an interpretation is difficult, but one can only admire the superlative quality of the orchestra, highlighted by a miking very naturelle.Le first movement is taken with a restraint that accentuates the voltage; the scherzo retains the lesson here Schubert; and the sublime adagio is one of the best ever recorded, with a sense of construction exceptionnel.Bon liner notes (for once ...) and beautiful and symbolic photograph interior.
The references remain the two versions Jochum, but this disc is to be acquired by all lovers of Bruckner and hoarding by admirers of Claudio Abbado.
