The fourth Common album is probably one that will launch his career in the top ranks of the charts. Largely produced by Jay Dee, "Like Water For Chocolate" incorporates great artists like D'Angelo, trumpeter Roy Hargrove, Slum Village, Bilal, Mos Def and many others ... The first three songs show his very soul and jazzy influences. Then comes "Dooinit" to honor the event by revealing the theme and color of the other songs on the album: a rap asked, musical and well paced, not forgetting his lyrics (considered the best lyricist in the category by the rapper magazine "Rolling Stones"). "Like Water For Chocolate" has nothing to envy to future albums by Common that for my part will lack authenticity compared to this one.
If you're a fan of Hip-Hop Old School, this album is to be absolutely in his discography!
