Previously I had a SONY MDR NC100D and am up to the damn short cable very very satisfied with the quality. Unfortunately, he has "slight" disintegration through daily use. Thus I got the Bose 20i for testing. Was a merchant from the test.
After various tests other in-ear earphone is the Bose for me the best, but they are all somehow not so great (AKG, SONY, Pioneer, Sennheiser). In short, I'm a bit disappointed, but I do not want big headphones, because I do not really sleep with it on the plane, nor can therefore work all day, I'm wearing glasses.
So I looked for a compromise.
First of all: to this in-ear earpiece too much dust is stirred.
He's good, sit comfortably and the Noise Cancelation works. Music sounds great, even phone calls. But it did not blew me why, on the contrary, that noise with the Noise Cancelation is higher than the old Sony - and thus it is ever worse than the Sony in this discipline. For the cable Bose thicker, not either twist and are longer.
Here are a few results from my tests. The handset, which is behind the test was better.
Dryer (1 floor below): Bose
Washing machine flings (1 floor below): Sony
Kitchen, cooker hood: Bose
Vacuums: Sony
On the terrace sat (ambient noise): Bose, without NC: Sony
Car (highway, 110km / h): Sony
Airbus 320 (cruising altitude, before and behind the engines sat): Bose
Sitting at a desk, on Mac, Window tilted with birds singing etc .: Bose
Night work at the desk: Sony
Women's shoes on parquet (both bad): Sony
Listening to individual voices (some people in the room): Sony
Biergarten: Bose, without NC: Sony
The comfort is better at Bose definitely. I have almost completely been wearing it yesterday 8:00 to 16:00. I could not do so with the Sony. The battery is built, what I do not like so. However, it is also lighter than the AAA battery at Sony. Music and calls also works when the NC is turned off - very good and not self-evident. And: This brings me all day to make ends meet.
I am disappointed that is heard by the recipient during the call when the cable against eg a shirt button "pops". As I would have expected more in this price range. Pleasant is, that when I speak of the recipient hears a clear voice image. Ok, it is not possible at Sony.
In business I was able to test the QuietComfort 25 Bose (also 290). I have to say it has almost blew me away. There was almost nothing to hear. And that in a Saturn on Saturday ;-)
As I said, I have taken the Bose, but as a compromise.
In conclusion: I say it honestly, there would be the Sony yet, plus microphone and long cable, were it not for this review!
