After games with Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Batman and Harry Potter already launched is now Pirates of the Caribbean on the series.
Also, and just because the gameplay, and the engine of the game have not changed much, has again come out absolutely successful game that thrilled not only children, as one might suspect at Lego context.
For newcomers - How does the game work?
The game is an adventure game in the first place. Basis is the port from which 4 levels are available with several episodes. The plot closely follows the three parts of Pirates of the Caribbean, in addition there is a fourth part of "On Stranger Tides", which presumably should make ever curious about the fourth film in the series, and first played in London.
You always have at least 2 Lego figures available (at the beginning Will Turner and Jack Sparrow), while some figures have certain skills. So girls can jump about higher, small figures (and dogs) crawling in hatches, others may dig or repair things. Between the figures one can arbitrarily switch back and forth, you can all also for two great play in co-op. Now it is time to solve puzzles and diligently gold and so-called mini-kits (to collect in the form of bottle ships).
The whole thing is extremely humorous opened (alone of around constantly lurching Jack Sparrow is sensational), and will from time to time from animated movies interrupted.
The joke of the whole thing - and an extreme long-term motivator is that many collectibles the first time are impossible to reach, perhaps because one has no character who can jump on a high point, or beyond a goal.
Be an episode but played through certain characters (total ~ 70) unlocked. With which you can see the episode in free play again play, but with a whole range of characters with diverse skills, thus increasing the possibilities for action clearly the things the game fun again significantly increased (see uploaded photos).
The difficulty level is medium, some puzzles are already crisp. Some skill sequences are somewhat tricky (at least for the Wii) and moderate compared with other platformers, but compared to other adventures.
The game can be played jointly by two older children from school age or in children and adults. Although it is not of course without violence, the Lego figures not die, but fall into their components.
For connoisseurs of the Lego series - What has changed?
Fortunately, hardly anything. The mini-kits are to be collected now compasses have been added. Jack Sparrow help these compasses to find important items. The Level 8's then Compass parts, 10 mini-kits and the Geldsteinchen for the title to collect "True Pirate". For each complete set there is a Goldstein, for one turn "Red Hats" can unlock that allows the purchase of various extras like points multipliers.
Switching between characters has become much easier through a kind of carousel speed dial. In free play now, all (unlocked) characters, not just a selection, as was in Indiana Jones or Batman.
The number of level is slightly lower (4 x 6) as usual, but still offers plenty of hours of gameplay.
Conclusion:
Well-designed puzzle, a long motivating gameplay, humorous script and the charming recognition of the Lego world make the Lego title to absolute exceptions. This also applies to Pirates of the Caribbean. Here you should access safely, the game is worth every penny!
