This is the first novel by Takuji Ichikawa translated into French. If there was only one thing to say is that this first book makes us want to read his other works! If sensitivity shines both in the translated version, we can only say that this author has unparalleled sensitivity. This sad romance takes us into the lives of four (or even five) individuals who meet all of the obstacles to their happiness. Together they form a perfect harmony. The characters of Takumi and Yuji are also very endearing through their personality and their little problems of everyday life. Time, memory, feelings and form the basis of this novel, which consumes less than a day. In the afterword, the author himself admits that he is among the people being unable to control their heart; which is obvious after reading this story. I long to see now -only by curiosité- film adaptation that was made by Nobuhiro Doi: Ima, Ai ni Yukimasu (2004).
