Again, the story is perfectly fitting.
A success.
While both series are endlessly dragging languor driven solely by greed and photocopying function, "Quest for the time Bird" remains exemplary.
Remember the 80s.
If in music, it was ... uh ... BD, what enchanted!
In this blessed time, you could read works as strong as Passengers of the Wind, Volume 1-5: Full Edition or companions twilight: Ultimate François Bourgeon, The great power of Chninkel Complete Collection in colors of Van Hamme and Rosinsky, Les 7 Vies de l'Epervier: Cothias and Juillard The integral, in the villages. Full of too unknown Cabanes, Watchmen Moore and Gibbons, Akira t. 1: The highway Ôtomo ... to mention only stories in several volumes.
"Quest for the time Bird" of Heroic fantasy trend spanned four volumes distilled between 1983 and 1987 by Letendre and Loisel.
To the extent that the cycle of searching staged a Bragon Chevalier already in early retirement, the idea of a series taking place before this period, made sense.
And indeed, the 2nd cycle which already includes 4 volumes is perfectly consistent. Serge Le Tendre and Régis Loisel (dubbed "graphic manager"!) Keep the upper hand in the screenplay, while in the brushes, the designers succeed (Lidwine for "L'Ami Javin" Aouamri for "Grimoire of the gods" and Vincent Mallié for "The Way of Rige" and the youngest, "The Knight Bragon".
I may have a preference for working Lidwine but drawing Mallié is impeccable. Only the lettering could be improved in my view, to be more readable.
When one reads today the series as a whole, we find that the first cycle, more compact, going to the point, on a faster pace (I must say that the Quest was only supposed to last 9 days).
The 2nd cycle that has to support the different characters since childhood, strolling a bit, without detriment to the history or deprives it of interest.
Moreover, contrary to live Blake and Mortimer or Asterix, new designers of the quest, all bring a more appreciable. Not only they retain the main features of the draft Loisel (ah those ladies who bite their lip -all those who have read "parties Disorders" Loisel the couple will know what I mean), but I find that they give a shot with new talent. The boxes are more airy, color layout is more neat.
Good job.
