Passion (1988) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

This 4th studio album by Jennifer Rush is a special jewel. Although it was "Passion" not quite able to match the success of his 3 predecessors, but the 11 tracks on it are true gems of pop music. Most titles open up completely only after repeated listening, so are not as catchy as Jennifer's former belongings. For the songs on the album are never boring and you never feel out of them oversaturated or even to annoyed. Even after 20 years I still like and regularly hear the album. The music it is timeless and beautiful.

Love Get Ready - Entry is quite peppy. The beautiful dance rhythm is enhanced by cool wind elements. And the result is a good danceable feel-good number, as they previously did not know the type of Jennifer.

You're My One And Only - has one of the best titles, the woman Rush ever published. Lying somewhere between ballad and Mittemposong. The verses are sung relatively quiet. The chorus, there's then a huge increase, Jennifer sings of her lungs, and her voice is really good to validity, the sound of her voice follows unconditionally. The song then ends with the grand final chorus. Best title of the album.

Falling in love - This quiet ballad seems a little out of place after the previous track. After blaring "You're my one and only" their ears have to get used again until the quiet, smooth tones. But that is quick, finally impresses this title by a magnificent and dreamy melody.

When I look in your eyes - Similar to the opener is here again worked with brisk wind sounds in the sound. The title comes carefree and casual and is therefore once again well danceable. The melody seems simple, but remains well in the ear. Highlight is the intermediate part to the wind solo.

Remind my heart - Similar afloat in sound like its predecessor, this title falls on particularly by the offensive Keybordklänge in sound. Jennifer sings with usual good voice and makes the rather average pop song so then again something special.

Keep all the fires Bruning bright - this title I would describe as monumental ballad. The verses seem endless, to a long reconciliation until finally comes the ingenious chorus. Especially good sounds also the intermediate part when Jennifer "Baby, baby" sings and her voice reverberates so glorious that's just not nice.

Same heart - the duet with Michael Bolton is also quite fast on the road. What's a little notice that Michael Bolton's voice a little goes alongside that of Jennifer Rush. The melody is ok

My heart is StillYoung - Magnificent title which begins quietly and somewhat mystical. About the Überleidung the song wins in the chorus a bit of pace. The melody is first class and beautiful, and the voice of Jennifer in top form. Beautiful guitar solo in the intermediate part.

You do not know what you've got (Until It's Gone) - Here we hear a beautiful chorus. Until the sounds but the title slowly but steadily builds. Magnificent Mittemposong with cool saxophone sounds in the middle part and a soft string sample at the end.

Rain coming down on me - This title reminds most likely at the titles of the previous albums. You can tune to hum along instantly and keeps the song even after the first hearing in my head. Beautiful track with everything that goes with it: Cool keyboards, drums good, nice guitar solo in the intermediate part and the great voice of Jennifer Rush.

Now that it's over - As usual, offers us a peaceful conclusion Jennifer Album. With a discreet sound and matching piano offers this ballad. The voice takes on some almost classical features and the melody seems a little hymn.

Musically you can hear here probably one of the largest developments of Jennifer Rush since their debut album. The songs seem sophisticated and timeless. Although the album from 1988 comes, you can hear the the work in any way, and it also has no embarrassing touching moments that are otherwise often when listening to music of the 80s witnessed where one wonders on what music you stood it out ,

What I also find very well done, the album design. The cover photo is beautiful and by the blue light it acts so wonderfully melancholic. The booklet is then, however, typical of CDs 80s equipped very lean. At that time, the LP was sold just more often and the CD was only a marginal product.
