This book DONE among the greatest masterpieces of heroic fantasy. He created! Not only by the richness of his inspiration, fabulous melting pot of Indo-European myths but also by his poetry and his inexhaustible evocative power. What seems to have escaped Karim: o) is that the adventures of Bilbo PREVIOUS trilogy! This is undoubtedly the book to have (in all senses) before approaching the Lord of the Rings; not the reverse! The Silmarillion is a "glossary" advantage, useful for understanding the rest of the work. You can not be sensitive to the magic of this book-as Karim- but then a great sadness, as this story may mark those who are left to penetrate. One can hardly miss me, for the reader; for my part, these books (the work of Tolkien) have filled my life indelible images and words. Thank you Mr. Tolkien.
